These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the REIGN community forum, playreigngame.com, and any related services provided by Ratlab Studios ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Translations of this document into other languages are provided for convenience only. The English version is the legally binding version.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian's permission.
2. Account
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized access to your account.
- One account per person. Multiple accounts to evade bans or moderation actions are prohibited.
- You must provide an accurate email and may not impersonate others.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you post on the forum (threads, posts, replies, image uploads). By posting, you grant Ratlab Studios a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content as part of operating the Service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content already shared by other users or required for legal compliance.
4. Prohibited conduct
You may not use the Service to:
- Post illegal content, hate speech, harassment, threats, or content that violates anyone's privacy or rights.
- Post sexually explicit content involving real persons without consent, or any content involving minors in sexual contexts.
- Distribute malware, spam, phishing links, or commercial advertising without permission.
- Impersonate Ratlab Studios staff, moderators, or other users.
- Attempt to bypass moderation actions (e.g., ban evasion through multiple accounts).
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or automatically crawl the Service except as permitted by robots.txt.
- Use the Service to facilitate or promote piracy of REIGN or any other software.
5. Moderation
We may remove content, lock threads, suspend accounts, or ban users at our discretion when we believe these Terms have been violated. We aim to be transparent and fair, but moderation decisions are final.
6. Game purchases
REIGN itself is sold through Steam (Valve Corporation). Purchase, refunds, and game licensing are governed by the Steam Subscriber Agreement. Ratlab Studios is not responsible for refund disputes; please contact Steam Support for those.
7. Mods and user-generated content
REIGN supports community mods via datapack JSON and (later) Steam Workshop. Users who create and distribute mods retain ownership of their work. By uploading to Steam Workshop, you agree to Steam Workshop's terms. Ratlab Studios is not responsible for the content of third-party mods.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ratlab Studios is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Ratlab Studios in the 12 months preceding the claim (or USD 50 if you paid nothing).
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless Ratlab Studios from any third-party claims arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or for any legitimate business reason, with reasonable notice where practical.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email (if you have an account) and on the site. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Ratlab Studios is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection laws of your residence apply.
